The Purpose of Youth Ministry at First Presbyterian
"Youth Ministry at First Presbyterian Church exists to glorify God by complementing the work of parents in the redemption and discipleship of their teenage children and by bringing into this fold teens of the surrounding community."
Youth group (combined Jr. and Sr. High) meet on the 1st and 3rd Thursdays of the month from 7-8:30 and Saturdays (at Mekeel) on the 2nd and 4th Saturdays.
Our youth have opportunities to serve others all year long. In addition to special projects (Christmas gift drive, cards for shut-ins...), we minister regularly with the City Mission, Camp Pattersonville, and other local ministries. We also encourage youth to serve on short-term mission trips and to be in prayer for our missionaries.
Activities: Our youth enjoy fun and fellowship with special activities scheduled year-round. Activities have included: swimming, sledding, Christian concerts, parties, gym nights, camping, paint ball, lock-ins, skiing, retreats, and much more. There's something for everyone! Check the bulletin for updates!
Our youth ministry succeeds because of the faithful support of our excellent youth volunteers. These men and women give of their time and energy to serve our youth on Youth Group nights, on Sundays, and at numerous events throughout the year.
